FAITH WINTER
(1980 - 2025)

Faith Winter

We are heartbroken to share that Colorado State Senator Faith Winter passed away November 26, 2025 in a tragic car accident. Many of you phonebanked, donated, wrote postcards and even canvassed for Faith when she first ran for Colorado's 25th District in 2018.

Faith, along with Tammy Story, were Sister District South Bay's first candidates after SDSB was established in late 2017. Both Faith and Tammy won their elections in November 2018 which helped flip the Colorado State Senate blue.

A fierce advocate for families, women and the environment, Faith was first elected to the Colorado State House of Representatives in 2014, representing Colorado House District 35 and was re-elected in 2016.

As a state legislator, Faith left an impressive legislative legacy for Coloradans. Her most significant achievements included landmark policies on paid family leave, housing reform, major transportation funding, reproductive healthcare, environmental justice, strengthening protections for women and the LGBTQ+ community and workplace harassment reform.

Faith also mentored many women to run for office through both personal encouragement and formal training programs. She made a significant impact on many people's careers as they have shared on this legacy webpage.

Faith is survived by a loving family and will be sorely missed by many friends. They have launched a GoFundMe to contribute to college savings funds for her children, Tobin (16) and Sienna (14).
